If you are making a trip to Clark Cay, here are some helpful tips.
A current passport is a MUST. Keep it on your body for the trip down and on your return (DO NOT pack it in you luggage). Bring a supply of any medication you may need. Pack light, there is a washer/dryer at Clark. For off Clark trips to Graham’s, Bo’s, End of the World, and Banacca Town shorts and a shirt will be appropriate. Unless you are planning on a business meeting formal clothes are not needed. Pack enough clothes for a couple of days then use the washer/dryer. Several guests have found that wearing a bathing suit around during the day is easier that packing shorts and bathing suits. You may want to line the inside of your luggage with a plastic bag and pack your clothes inside the plastic bag. The luggage travels from the airport to Clark Cay in a boat and rain showers have been know to dampen clothes on boat ride to Clark. Wear shoes for the trip down then sandals for the rest of the week. Shoes are a must for trips to Banacca Town and walking around Brick Point. Sandals should do every where else, even a hike up to the falls. You will need a good hat, sunglasses, and a couple of bottles of sunscreen (remember to put on sunscreen early and if wearing sandals apply to the tops of your feet). There is a good supply of Deeps Woods Off at Clark if the bugs get hungry. Many guest have found that bring smaller bills is helpful (1’s, 5’s, &10’s) $100’s and 50’s are hard to break (exchange rate is about 1 US dollar to 18 Lemps). There is a $33US exit fee for international departures. Several of the local bars offer tee shirts and small souvenirs. Snacks can be found on the Cay (Banacca Town) if there is a special snack you can not live without, check with us to find out if it can be found on the Cay.
